Chad (New York, NY): Chad, I read an article where a lot of GMs said they still would have traded NY's top pick in the draft for Eddy Curry, because of his enormous upside. Do you agree with this?
Chad Ford: (12:30 PM ET ) I think Isiah Thomas must have authored it. Sure, I'd trade Eddy Curry for a No. 1 pick in theory. However, your question is leaving out two big things. One, the Knicks actually gave away 2 first round picks for Curry (the Bulls have the right to swap picks with the Knicks next year and given the direction the Knicks and Bulls are going, it's going to be swapping a potential No. 1 and maybe a shot at Greg Oden for a pick in the late teens or early 20s). Two, they gave Curry $56 million after he spent the end of last season sitting out with heart problems. Is there really another GM in the league that would've done that? Not one that would want a job next year. That was one of the worst trades ever.
